This week's Cookie of the Week is brought to you by Donna Gorton.
The response for Cookie of the Week has been overwhelming and I would like to thank
everyone who has sent a recipe. They all will be shared : ). Thanks again Donna ! I can
hardly wait to make these delicious cookies : )What you need:
- (makes small double batch)
- 1 1/2 c. of Butter flavored Crisco
- 2 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. of vanilla (pure or artificial, doesn't matter)
- 2 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. of flour
- 2 tsp. of salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3 c. (or one lg. bag) of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp. of milk (whole or 2% works best)
- Add nuts if you wish
about 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans.
What you do:
Preheat
oven to 375. Cream Crisco, brown sugar, vanilla, & eggs in bowl. Mix in dry ingred.
& add chocolate chips. Using a teaspoon, drop cookie dough onto an ungreased baking
sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 8-10 mins. *Very important: Done when center looks
a little mushy. This makes them be chewy & soft.
You can also add baking cocoa to mix if you want a fudgy
cookie.
Enjoy & happy baking!!
-Donna Gorton
Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe is from Debra Shaughnessy,
who says, "We live in Knoxville Tennessee and I'm a stay at home mom. In the
winter time we love to bake cookies and one
of our favorites is Jumbo Chocolate chip Cookies, it has peanut
butter in them which is a grand treat for my family! I hope you enjoy
them as much as we do!" |
