Returning to
childhood creative processes
by Lara Kehler, veteran homeschooler
My experiences as a Home Schooled kid were amazing, motivational,
and have allowed me the passion to pursue the things I do today. I grew up on a mountain
15 minutes outside of Abbotsford, a town in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. I
discovered my love of working with talented artists and writers. I received a diploma in
Structural Civil Engineering, and developed work experience as a Engineering Technologist.
But - - My dream? Produce a well designed magazine with its' entire content dedicated to
art and ideas of alternative learners around the world! Learn more about how I came
"full circle."

loves to get his hands on science stuff and is a Beaver leader. I love baking, cooking and
math.

We have three daughters, all homeschooled. The oldest is in
university (homeschooled until college.) The middle one decided to go to high school--and

homeschooling and loving it.

4 kids at home Dina (13), Allison (12) both interested in acting,

beadwork and candymaking (lucky us!). Brad (7) enjoys lego and all things in nature
especially wild birds. Hillary (5) loves art and acts as our interior decorator. Each year
sees our "schooling" becoming less structured and more spontaneous. We share our
house on the riverbank with my (Jennifer) parents -- there are some special treasures in a
multi-generational household.
