find out more about SueWillie Ripple, the author of many terrific craft books, has written one especially for Valentine's Day called Valentine School Parties What do I do?

ripple.jpg (6914 bytes)Willie, coming from a very creative family, found that she too was very crafty when it came to her daughter's school parties. As a craft enthusiast she loves to make thing and share them with others.

I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Willie Ripple about her valentine's book. I hope you enjoy it.

Sue:
I really love your book Valentine's Day called Valentine School Parties What do I do?. It's terrific because it is perfect for school class rooms, camps, church classes and the individual families. What gave you the idea for this book?

ripple.jpg (6914 bytes)Willie:
In 1993, my daughter's kindergarten teacher had told me (after one of the school parties I had co-ordinated) that I should write a book because my parties were the best she had seen in her 20 years as a teacher. But what was strange is that 5 other people that same week said that I should write a book also. So I bought a book on how to write a book.

valrosepen.jpg (6714 bytes)Sue:
You included crafts, games, recipes basically everything for a wonderful valentine's Day party. What first got you interested in crafts and party making : )?

Willie:
My mom used to do such neat things at family parties and I was so amazed. I guess it in the blood. By trade I'm a hairdresser and I didn't realize I had the creative edge until I started doing hair. I love to create!

candyrose.jpg (3880 bytes)Sue:
As a kid I both loved making crafts and teaching them to children in my neighborhood and summer camps. Your book would have definitely been on my book shelf. What is your and your children's favorite crafts to make?

Willie:
No doubt about it- Smooshies, you can find the recipe on page 132 in my Halloween book or on page 101 in the Valentine book. It's the best craft there is, for any event. Kids of all ages love making them.
